How to thrive in a coworking space
If you’re already a member here at Cowork by RSD, you know we’re more than just a place to hang your business license. You’re part of a community of the most innovative entrepreneurs in all of Alaska.
Whether you’re a member or thinking of becoming one (or just use the occasional day pass), here are a few tips to help you thrive in our cowork space.
Socialize
When you started your business in your laundry room, you figured out pretty quickly how isolated you could become. Sure, you could visit with your family, but you need to network to expand your business.
I’ve said it before: There’s nothing like the energy of a busy workplace. Take advantage of the opportunity to collaborate and chat with your fellow coworkers. There’s a diversity of entrepreneurs at Cowork by RSD that you just won’t find in a traditional single-company workspace.
Take the time to get to know your fellow coworkers during one of our events, at the espresso station or while relaxing by the fire in the lobby. You never know where that next big idea or vital business connection will come from.

As your Community Manager, my job is to make sure you have what you need to thrive. Whether it’s to clean up a coffee spill or help you connect to our screaming fast Wi-fi, we’re here to help.
We’re not just here to help with stuff inside the building, though. Cowork by RSD is all about partnerships, both inside our space and out in our community. Let’s work together to solve that little problem so you can focus on growing your business.
Stay focused
Sure, it’s great to have the buzz around you, but sometimes you need to block the outside world out. A good pair of noise-cancelling earphones can help with that. Even better, take advantage of our free huddle rooms throughout the building. They’re comfortable and they’re quiet.
And if you find yourself stagnating at your desk, a change of scenery may be just what you need. Relax by the fire with a Kaladi Brothers coffee, or have a seat in one of our common areas. Our Wi-fi is fast and secure, and you can use it throughout our space.
Get the flexible membership that fits you
If you only need the occasional getaway, you can always grab a day pass. $25 gets you in the door and you have a ton of first-come, first-served options on the Fire Floor. The coffee and the common areas are all yours–including that comfy fire–and of course the screaming fast Wi-fi will help you finish your work in record time. You’re also welcome to participate in any events while you’re here. From guest speakers to potlucks to networking events, your day pass is your ticket to participate.
If you find you need to come in more often, check out our memberships. The Business Membership ($225/mo) comes with numerous options during regular business hours, including access to the Fire, Earth and Water floors.
If your business isn’t a traditional 9-5 gig, consider a Premier Membership ($350/mo). You’ll have 24-hour keycard access to all of that, plus more common areas, including the amazing Atrium.
And of course, we have dedicated desks and flexible monthly office rentals. Because we’re so flexible, our availability changes often, so email me for the latest desk and office openings.
