Our Story

Not Just Office Space

While traveling in the lower 48, our founder, Robin Brena, was attempting to work in yet another substandard hotel business center, when he decided to give coworking a try. He was impressed by the concept of flexible, no-commitment office spaces, and the collaborative atmosphere of the common areas. He immediately recognized Alaska’s need for an upscale coworking space.

His company, RSD Properties, undertook a $3 million overhaul of the four-story property, which opened in October 2021. Thanks to his vision, Cowork by RSD has gained a stellar reputation. We’re known for high-tech amenities, an upscale atmosphere, quality meeting spaces, and stellar customer service.

The coworking space was an immediate success. A variety of entrepreneurs took advantage of the flexible office spaces, memberships and day passes for the common areas by the cozy fire.

“Cowork by RSD provides an important service for people tired of working from home who want a safe community,” says Robin.

Community means more than a space for entrepreneurs to work. Robin’s vision includes helping members grow their businesses and contribute to their communities. “We actively sponsor events of interest to our members,” he says. You’ll find regular networking events and presentations focused on growing your business at Cowork by RSD. We also sponsor non-profit fundraisers and encourage our members and employees to volunteer in the community.

Our latest space is our 921 Annex, located at 921 W. 6th Ave. You’ll find 3,600 square feet of office space and a large common area. General Manager Marnie Kaler says, “Our flagship space is known for its upscale, professional atmosphere. 921 Annex has a more laid-back, casual vibe with the collaborative atmosphere you expect from a coworking space.”
